Wood Products Processing

The program offers both a designation designed to produce graduates who will be capable of managing a wood products manufacturing facility which uses state-of-the-art computer driven manufacturing equipment. A co-operative education program is also offered which allows students the opportunity to gain work experience in the industry.

Co-op Opportunities: Co-op is the integration of up to 20 months of practical, paid work experience into a students academic studies. Co-op Coordinators work with employers across Canada and around the world to carefully develop challenging, career-related positions. Students then participate in a competitive application and interview process to secure a work experience term of four to eight months. Students also attend a series of Employability Skills Workshops that teach resume writing, interviewing skills and techniques to deal with common workplace issues. Students are supervised, evaluated, and paid by their employer. Co-op positions are regarded as an important addition to a students professional and career development.
