My client requires a very bright, focused and experienced Inventory Manager to lead the materials and finished goods process for their home & commercial building products manufacturing facility in the Okanagan Valley region of BC.
Primary consideration will be given to local, BC and Canadian candidates, and a moderate relocation allowance will be provided to the ideal candidate.
SUMMARY
Responsible for all aspects of inventory and logistics management including transportation planning, purchasing, forecasting and materials planning, receiving, production scheduling and inventory control.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Measuring the deviation between forecasted and actual sales and understanding how that impacts raw materials and procurement
- Manage warehouse operations including inventory management to ensure timely release of material and optimal stock inventory turnover. Sets and monitors inventory levels of both raw materials and finished goods to ensure maximum turns and returns
- Ensures inventory accuracy through such things as development and adherence to cycle count programs and actual versus bill of materials usage in an effort to optimize inventory levels
- Issues POs and expedites delivery of raw materials and other purchases from approved suppliers.
- Responsible for the receiving of raw materials
- Responsible for the production scheduling
- Tracks production & sales trends vs. forecast to ensure required inventory is on hand to optimize production
- Ensures adherence to pricing and purchasing terms, inventory turns, transportation & fill rates set by HQ
- Ensures safety procedures are followed and products are safely handled, and other misc. duties as required
MANDATORY KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- College / University graduate
- 5+ years experience in manufacturing management ideally in a Union environment
- 3+ years experience in inventory & logistics management
- experience with distribution & inventory control, freight, production scheduling, forecasting and purchasing
- Management of MRP systems including forecasting and production planning, Word, Outlook and Excel
This role will pay a base salary in the $65 to $80K range, with a strong bonus program based on results, and a basic Employee Benefits plan.
