Carpentry and Joinery - Heritage

This two-year Ontario College Diploma program combines new construction technology with traditional carpentry techniques.

The first year of the program focuses on woodworking, joinery fundamentals and modern construction practices including framing, roofing and finish carpentry. In the second year, students learn architectural joinery, millwork and traditional building methods of timber framing and log construction. Students also study historical Canadian architecture, construction methods and preservation techniques which provide them with the knowledge and skills to produce the high-quality work demanded by the field of heritage carpentry.
